Recognition for Kojamo’s climate work in the Europe’s Climate Leaders ranking
The Financial Times has compiled a list of European companies that have significantly reduced their greenhouse gas emissions between 2018 and 2023. Kojamo has been selected for the Europe’s Climate Leaders list for the first time.
Europe’s leading financial newspaper, the Financial Times, and German research company Statista have published the 2025 list of Europe’s Climate Leaders.
The 2025 list includes 600 companies, 40 of which are in the real estate sector. There are 29 Finnish companies featured. Kojamo has been selected for the list this year for the first time.
“Our target of carbon neutrality in energy use by 2030 is a key theme in our sustainability programme, and being included in the list is a great recognition of our long-term climate efforts,” says Elina Ekelund, Kojamo’s Sustainability Manager.
Kojamo wants to take action to restrain climate change by improving the energy consumption of its property portfolio and reducing its carbon footprint. The carbon neutrality work is progressing according to plan: the carbon footprint per apartment has already decreased by 56 per cent from 2020 to the end of 2024.
Europe’s Climate Leaders ranking
Europe’s Climate Leaders is an annual list, published since 2021, of European companies that have most significantly reduced their direct greenhouse gas emissions and indirect greenhouse gas emissions from the purchase and use of energy relative to their revenue.
The ranking aims to identify and highlight companies that are committed to climate goals, actively reduce their emissions, and report their progress transparently.
Europe’s Climate Leaders 2025 list is available on the Financial Times website.
